Chocolate Mousse recipe:
Ingredients:
- 200g (7oz) dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups (480ml) heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, berries
Instructions:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chopped dark chocolate in the microwave in short intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream and granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. You can use an electric mixer or a whisk for this step.
- Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream gently until fully combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
- Add the vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture and stir until incorporated.
- Transfer the chocolate mousse into individual serving glasses or a larger serving bowl. (I made this one by using a plastic bottle as a mould which I cut off when musse had hardened.)
- Chill the mousse in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to set.
- Before serving, you can top the chocolate mousse with additional whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries for extra flair.
- Serve and enjoy the creamy and decadent Chocolate Mousse!
This recipe requires minimal effort and is perfect for a quick and delightful dessert that will impress your guests or satisfy your sweet cravings. Enjoy!
